Introduction and Function of Gate Valves

2024-05-29

Gate Valves are an important type of valve, which is mainly driven by the valve stem to move the opening and closing parts (gate) along the valve seat sealing surface.

The characteristics of the gate valve are that the movement direction of the opening and closing parts is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid, and it can only be fully opened and fully closed, and cannot be used for regulation or throttling.

The gate valve achieves sealing through the contact between the valve seat and the gate, and the sealing surface is usually welded with metal materials to enhance wear resistance.

Gate valves are divided into rigid gate valves and elastic gate valves, which are different according to the gate.

The gate valve plays the role of opening and closing in the pipeline, and controls the passage of fluid by raising and lowering the gate. When the gate is raised, the fluid can pass smoothly; when the gate is lowered, the flow of fluid is blocked. This valve is widely used in various industrial pipeline systems to ensure the normal control and operation of the fluid.
